It is white, light, fine powder, greasy to touch, hardly dissolve in water or ethanol, or aether, soluble in hot water and warm ethanol.

It is widely used in medicine, food, plastic, dope, textile etc, used as emulsifier, releasing agent, reluctant, stabilizer, thickener, accelerant.
