Introduction:
Pueraria (Kudzu Root), Chinese name of Ge-gen is a perennial, trailing or climbing vine. The whole plant is covered with brown villous. It often chopped into thick pieces while used as medicine. It appears to be white or brown color, fibroid, rough while the rhizoma dug out and harvest in spring or autumn.
Functions:
The kudzu mainly contains flavones, such as daidzein, daidzin, daidzein-4, 7-diglucose glucoside, puerarin, puerarin-7-xyloside, puerarol, xylopuerarin, isoflavonoid glycoside and starch. Kudzu vine root can dilate coronary vessels and cerebral blood vessels and increase the blood flow of coronary arteries.
Total flavone of kudzu vine root can reduce the myocardial oxygen consumption and increase the supply of oxygen. Kudzu vine root can directly dilate the blood vessels to lower peripheral resistance. It can also reduce blood pressure remarkably and alleviate the "nape tension" symptom of a patient with a high blood pressure in a better way. Puerarin can inhibit the platelet aggregation.
